How to Use

  1. Add a WAV or another recognized audio file with the format metadata needed for decoding. Do not select headerless .raw PCM.
  2. Select 128, 192, or 320 kbps. The default output is 192 kbps.
  3. Click "Convert to MP3". The browser downloads the FFmpeg engine on first use, then processes the queue.
  4. Download each completed MP3. If a large file exhausts device memory, close other tabs or convert a shorter recording.

Core Features

Recognized Uncompressed Audio Input

Use WAV or another audio file whose container identifies the codec and stream settings. Headerless .raw PCM is not supported by this page because the converter has no controls for sample rate, bit depth, and channel count.

128, 192, or 320 kbps Output

Choose 128 kbps for speech and smaller files, the default 192 kbps for a balanced result, or 320 kbps for a higher data rate. MP3 is lossy at every setting.

Browser-Based FFmpeg Conversion

The page uses FFmpeg WebAssembly and libmp3lame in your browser. It downloads the engine when first needed, then processes each compatible input in a temporary browser file system.

RAM and Device Limits

Uncompressed recordings can be large. Conversion time and reliability depend on file duration, codec, available RAM, and device CPU; the page warns when a selected file is large.

For FLAC, M4A, common video formats, and batch conversion, use the general MP3 converter.

Calculation Logic

The converter passes a recognized input file to FFmpeg WebAssembly and encodes its audio stream with libmp3lame at the selected target bitrate. The selected file is not uploaded by the converter, but the FFmpeg core and WASM resources are loaded over the network when required.

True headerless PCM contains no self-describing sample rate, bit depth, channel count, or byte order. Because this interface does not ask for those parameters, it cannot decode arbitrary .raw data reliably. Wrap the PCM data in a supported container such as WAV before using this page.

FAQ

What exactly is a "Raw" audio file?

The term can mean uncompressed audio stored in a container such as WAV, or true headerless PCM bytes. This page handles recognized media files; headerless .raw PCM is not supported.

Will converting Raw Audio to MP3 degrade the sound quality?

Yes. MP3 is a lossy format. A 320 kbps output uses more data than 128 or 192 kbps, but it is still lossy and cannot restore details missing from the source.

Why does headerless PCM need extra settings?

The decoder needs the sample rate, bit depth, and channel count, plus byte order for some formats. Those values are not stored in a headerless file and this page does not provide fields for them.

Why can a large recording slow down or fail?

The browser holds the input, FFmpeg engine, and MP3 output in memory. Long uncompressed recordings can require substantial CPU and RAM, depending on the device.
